Playdate at McDonalds

We met Joshua and his grandparents at McDonald's this afternoon for a little bit of playtime. It was great to see him. He is doing well... walking (with shoes, not so good; without them though, he is doing really great) and he crawls at the speed of light. He is weighing 32# and is 33" tall. He still has his little chuckle laugh and beautiful smile and is still flirting with the girls and making friends all over the state. He says choo choo, luv you, blows kisses and was trying to give Abby hugs. We will see him again in June when they come to town for court hearing.

Joshua was our ninth foster child, he was with us for six months nearly from June to December 2008. He had been mauled by a dog after being left alone in the living room. He was a very sweet "little" guy to have around the house. He went to live with his "grandparents" and will hopefully be adopted by them before the year is over. They have been sweet enough to keep us involved with him and to keep us updated on how he is doing.

March for Babies Walk

This morning, Abby, Mema, Riley and I participated in the March of Dimes "March for Babies" walk at the Legends Crossing. We had a great time walking around the "pond" there. It was amazing to see the photos of little bitty newborns and to see them as they are growing up now. In hearing the different stories, I had to look down at Riley and say a little prayer to God that he is as healthy as he is, considering his start in life.

Vet School Tour at Texas A&M

Blaine has her arm inside a "real live" cow. She was feeling what was in the cow's rumen. Her response was that was warm and had wet hay inside there.... this is called a fistulated cow -- she is used to obtain good rumen bacteria that is transferred into cows that are lacking this, she has this hole all the time and it is plugged until needed.
