Riley's 15 month Checkup

Poor little guy... Riley went for his 15 month checkup last Thursday
and as you can see, he really thought it was a traumatic experience.
He hates the scales, he doesn't like to be measured for his length,
and he played very close attention to each of the three nurses as if he was memorizing their features for future reference (ie, to start screaming when they came into the room to give him his required shots).
Weight: 21# 10oz
Length: 29 3/4"
(he was between the 10th and 25th percentile for both weight and height)
For Development, he is doing everything that he should be doing, plus a little more..
Walking alone, stopping and starting, crawling up stairs, banging toys together, self feeding, drinking from a cup, giving hugs and kisses, using and learning new words, scribbling, understanding no no, rolling a ball, pointing for something that he wants, trying to remove his clothes, and knowing how pretend that he is talking on a phone.

Special Day for Baby Josh

Today was a special day for "baby" Josh...it was his adoption day. I went down to the courthouse today to be a part of this special occassion with him and his mama "Julie". He is doing really great and has grown so much. He was just chattering away about everything and asked about Earwin (Aaron).

2nd Day Performance

Blaine and Abby Gale completed their second day of dance performances and the audience survived the 2nd day of a four hour show.
Abby enjoyed getting ready for the show. She liked the makeup and hairdo. She didn't cry on stage but she still didn't dance either. She might have tapped her foot one time but no one is 100% certain of that so we should probably just say that she held her place on stage very well. Perhaps she will be dancing again next year.

Here's the dancer with her bouquet of flowers.

Dance Recital 2010

Tonight was the first performance of All That Jazz Dance Recital 2010.
Abby Gale did a terrific job holding down her spot on the stage. She never moved but she didn't cry up there either so that was progress. Up until about six weeks ago, she was enjoying dance class. Then, one day she was playing around and leaned down as the teacher's tap shoe was coming up, head and shoe met and Abby hasn't been happy at dance since. In pictures below, she is posing with friends from class in their costumes. They all did a great job. Abby's award was for "Most Improved Timing" --we aren't quite sure what timing was improved but she proudly walked across the stage to get her certificate, necklace and sucker. Perhaps she will dance again in the fall -- we will let her attitude decide that.

Here are a few photos from Blaine's performances. The first is from the ballet, Giselle and the second is from All American. She did a terrific job with her performances tonight. Her solo was the best that she has ever danced. Aaron and I were both so proud of her. She knew her routines so well and was ready to go for each one. For her awards tonight, she received "Most Improved Overall Dancer and dedication" award, she received the "Pointe Class" award, meaning that she will start pointe ballet class in the summer classes, and she received the Full Scholarship and Solo award for the upcoming year. This was a wonderful accomplishment for her. Mrs. Gina had spoke with her a few weeks ago after classes and told her how proud she was of her with all her activities and how she gives everything she can even though she is very active in so much.

We can't say it enough -- we are so very proud of her and all her accomplishments that she has had this year with sports, school work/grades, 4-H projects and dance as well. She is definitely an all around great kid!

We love you, darlin'.
