National Junior Honor Society

Blaine was inducted tonight. What a honor for her -- she met the grade requirements, filled out the application and wrote her essay as parts to obtaining this. Traits that members show are: character, service, leadership, citzenship and scholarship.

Weekend antics

Here is Abby eating dinner at Pappasito's in Austin. She decided to finish off Riley's fruit once he didn't want any more of it. The glasses were worn into the restuarant and out into the parking lot, along with her hands in her jean pockets...

Picture below is Riley trying to feed himself with the spoon..he has gotten very independent with that this last week. He is actually doing really good when he uses a fork. Most bites actually do make it right to his mouth.

What's your favorite meal?

Well, we aren't sure what your most favorite meal is but we certainly do know what Riley loves the most so far... SPAGHETTI is his favorite as you can see. He eats it up, sucks the pieces of noodles into his mouth and just enjoys. He ate a whole plate full tonight. He had his ear tubes put in this morning and didn't seem to have too many complaints today about his ears hurting. He spent the day trying to walk more, playing and talking. We went out for a short time and he was just waving to folks and saying "hi"...he definitely brought smiles to quite a few faces through the day.

Three Muskateers

On Sunday, we took the kids to Austin to go to Picture People and take their pictures together, celebrating Riley's adoption like we did with Abby. Abby Gale was in full character for the pictures and being a perfect clown. The photographer had to really work quickly to get pictures of Flash Lightnin' Riley...he was in and out of the pictures faster than anyone could keep up with him. Aaron and I were very pleased with the pictures that were taken.

Here are photos from his birthday parties..we had cupcakes on the night of his birthday..and then we had a family party on Sunday. He really enjoyed playing outside on the rocket and his new ATV. He rides it all over the house.

Beautiful Blogger Award

Emily at McKay Family Life (mckayfamilylife.blogspot.com) nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger award.. it says that you must list seven interesting facts about yourself. Not sure how interesting these are but here they are anyway...

1. My husband and I started dating when I was a senior. We had know each other for years before that. We have now been married for seventeen years and have been dating for over 21 years.

2. My brothers used to tease me about being switched at birth with another baby...it would make me so mad and I would run and tell my dad on them.

3. Aaron and I have three beautiful children... a 13 year old, 2 year old and 1 year old.

4. I love to read but just don't have the time anymore to do so...right now anyway. That's really a funny thing as I get sample books each week in the mail from one of the publishers that I represent in my second job. There are weeks that 10 or so books arrive here -- just to be put on the desk to hopefully take out to an appointment soon.

5. This is the first house that we have stayed in longer than 3 years since we have been married. We used to laugh and tease each other when it was time to move again.

6. I was able to quit my job five years ago to stay at home, only to have to go back to work when we were finally able to adopt our little girl who is now 2. I went back to the exact same job that I had quit three years before.

7. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

For my nominations for the Beautiful Blogger award it would have to be my sister in law Collin at The Peters Family --she is the one that taught me about blogs and being able to share photos with everyone. Aaron and I have both really enjoyed capturing and sharing moments on here for ourselves and anyone else that wants to see what is going on with our family. So, thank you Collin for sharing the blogging world with us.

ADOPTION DAY!!!!

April 1st will not be an April Fool's Day for us. It will be adoption day. We are so excited to have this day coming up very soon. It seems like it has taken forever to get here but it really hasn't. Little Riley was so easy to fall in love with ... he is growing and changing each and every day.

So coming soon... officially ...Riley Kenneth Peters

We will be having a baptism and celebration soon after the 1st.
