17th Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday, Aaron and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. We talked about that day and all the funny memories that we had -- Aaron arriving at the church four hours early to sit and wait in the little small cramped room;Mema sewing all his underwear shut that he had packed in his travel bag (little did she know -- for some reason he was wearing two pair); grandma being left at home and the mad dash to go get her; how our car had been completely vandalized by friends while we were getting ready for our wedding -- plastic wrapped, shaving cream, duct tape, and cans tied behind; and being pelted with millet as we left the church -- we found millet for days after our wedding.
What the years have had for us: a beautiful thirteen year old schedule filling athletic daughter, a sweet two year little princess, and a little soon to be one year little man and many many sweet memories of times together. We look forward to many many more years of memories to come.
Here are some photos to laugh about (especially the hair -- Blaine had a good laugh looking through our photo books and making fun of my "big" hair and oh the beautiful large lens glasses)....

We spent our anniversary in Dallas. We went to dinner at The Capital Grille. It was very nice and a very special treat. For dessert, here is how they brought out our plate. I just had to take a picture of it.

Seventeen wonderful years together.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

The Wonders of Winter... a little dusting of snow seems to bring out the kid in everyone...we had a whopping 3.1 inches of snow on Tuesday (my coworkers in Wichita and Minneapolis had a good laugh when they heard that I had work from home because of our Winter Weather Warning and school's being released). But we got our hats, gloves and coats out and went outside to play... several times throughout the day. We had a great time with the winter white stuff. We talked about how it would be neat to live in a place that had more of it...then we decided it was great to have the enjoyment of snow for a day, then have it go away....
I found a few quotes that I like about snow and snowflakes....
Snowmen fall from heaven unassembled and are just waiting for the one to create them...below you will see Aaron, Blaine and Abby creation...
A snowflake is winter's butterfly.. I like that because it is true and you get as much enjoyment in seeing both in the sky fluttering around...

Lazy but Busy Sunday at Home

Is there such a thing as a lazy but busy Sunday afternoon? We were lazy in the fact that we were at home...but busy in the fact that we had Will and Lauryn over to play ....

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine Gift
On Valentine’s Day,I’m thinking about
the special ways you have made my life better,
the little things,the not-so-little things...
your kindness, the way you always listen
and pay attention to me. You make my world
brighter and richer. You’re a gift to me,
and I thank youfor being you.

Valentine Treasures
Valentine treasures are people who
have often crossed your mind, family, friends and others, too, who in your life have shined the warmth of love or a spark of light that makes you remember them; no matter how long since you’ve actually met, each one is a luminous gem, who gleams and glows in your memory, bringing special pleasures, and that’s why this Valentine comes to you: You’re one of those sparkling treasures!
