Beach Escape 2012 Surfside Beach Trip
Surfside Beach Trip 2012
We just returned from a weekend escape to the beach -- even with the rain at times, everyone had a great time. Here are some pictures from our trip.
Crabbing Pier on Saturday morning
Saturday Morning swim at the beach...getting your boogie boards ready and your sand buckets gathered up ...it's time for fun at the beach...
Sunday afternoon ferry ride from Galveston to Bolivar Pennisula...we are looking for dolphins. We saw several pods along the ten minute ride.
You can tell...he is studying on how to not keep out....

Starbound National Dance Competition San Antonio July 5-7
Blaine and the dance company just returned from competition in San Antonio
On Friday, she competed in the Miss Star of Hope contest. She was one of 6 senior aged girls to compete in this competition that all entry fees are donated to a Breast Cancer research center. She danced so beautifully and it made me cry to watch; in the picture below, all of the girls that competed in this contest had to say why they entered or who they were dancing for--Blaine stated she was dancing for her great grandmother, Lena Peters, who passed away right after she was born from breast cancer. Shelby is standing beside Blaine in this picture as she competed in the Junior Miss Star of Hope competition. There was a total of 20 different aged girls, who raised over $3000 in just 45 minutes for cancer research.

Saturday evening the senior aged girls were able to perform again in the Starbound Showcase performance that was broadcasted live over the internet. I was proud of them for this feat as well since it was the first time for All That Jazz dancers to be able to perform in this showcase. They left San Antonio with a plan to improve some techniques and return to San Antonio and the showcase again next year!
