Makin Cookies for the Easter Bunny

On Good Friday, the kids were busy making sugar cookies with Blaine and I for the Easter Bunny. We made egg, flower and bunny shaped cookies to frost. Once we were done with the dough, Riley and Abby had a blast playing with the dough and flour......

San Antonio Fun Pics

Starbound Regional Dance - San Antonio 4/15-4/16

Blaine and her dance company went to the Starbound Regionals in San Antonio on April 15th and 16th. They all did a great job. All the routines that Blaine participated in received gold metals.

Share the Fun - 4H Round Up

Blaine participated in the Share the Fun/County 4H Round Up a couple of weeks ago. She did a speech on the use of Dance Therapy for Health Purposes and then danced her solo routine for the Share the Fun portion of the event. She did great on both and if we hadn't been going to the Starbound Dance Competition in San Antonio, she would have advanced to Regional County Round Up with both activities. GREAT JOB, Blaine. It was her first 4H Public speaking event and she prepared a great presentation and was confident in presenting it to the judges.

NJHS Induction

A few weeks ago, Blaine participated in the National Jr Honor Society induction of this year's new members. She had to read part of the play for the induction and did a great job. Here are few pics from the evening.

It's funny when you see some of these girls in dresses, as they are all so tomboyish and "all sports". Most of them have been friends since elementary school and it's so hard to believe that they will soon be freshman in high school. The days and years certainly fly by quickly. Puppies in the House

A few weeks ago, we went to get a puppy or possibly two from the people that we got Holly from. Well, guess what... ended up with three of them. The pups were nearly four months old when we got them and they are actually doing really well. They had a little skin "condition" that the vet has treated and you can really see a difference in them. They are house trained for the most part when they sleep inside at night and they have only "escaped" from the yard a couple of times. All in all, it hasn't been too bad.

It's funny how the puppy matches the one that claimed them....

Meet Maggie

Blaine claimed this one when she saw the puppies and asked if we were going to take her too...

She is a little red lab that is a little bit skittish around the little ones. I don't think she trusts Riley when he comes running to chase her down, so into the bushes she goes. When the other two escaped from the yard, Maggie held back as if to say...ya'll are going to be in trouble now ...Just like I could hear Blaine saying...

Next, meet Max. Max was claimed by Riley as the boys have to stick together. Max is very well behaved. He was the first to actually sit when asked and seems to get into mischief. He is very curious. From looking at his paws, I think he is going to be a pretty big boy once he is grown. He is a blond color. It is neat how we have one of each color, except for the chocolate.

And finally, meet Mia. She is the mischievous, get into trouble, check everything out and don't miss out on anything, little lady. The lady that we got her from called her nosy and I can see why. Mia and Abby hit it off instantly so she was Abby's dog. Since being at house, they have had a few differences, and Mia is learning lessons about not getting into trouble. When the "escape" from the yard happened, Mia was leading the pack. As you can see from the picture on the first day, she was too busy checking everything out and "nosing" around to pose for a picture with Abby.

We have enjoyed the pups and took them for their first official lease walk last night. They all did a great job.
