Girls' Weekend in San Antonio
Blaine's dance competition was this weekend in San Antonio. The plans for the weekend changed on Friday when Riley had to have an unexpected surgery but the weekend still turned out great. Blaine went down on Friday and Amber and Ally joined her and stayed the weekend at the Emily Morgan Hotel with her. I was able to get down to San Antonio on Saturday morning and spent the rest of the weekend with them. So, it turned into a girl's weekend getaway...
It was Fiesta in San Antonio and Saturday night was the "Parade of Flowers" (with quite a few people on the streets lined up and down for miles -- over 500,000 people from what we had read). I bought the beautiful hats and boas seen in the photos below from one of the street vendors (totally unlike me to do this.) We had fun with them though.

Isn't she "happenin"
This was a photo that we had to send to Aaron just to let him know we were doing alright... he probably thought I had been partaking in too many margaritas....but it was only one... a very small one.

Share the Fun -- 4H District 4 Competition
Blaine competed in the District 8 4-H Share the Fun Competition today. She had participated in the County level event a few weeks back and was able to advanced the District level. She placed First in her age category today and had a great performance. Her song for her solo this year is My Freedom.
March for Babies
Last Saturday, we participated in the March for Babies walk for March of Dimes. Riley had just came into our hearts and home last year at this event.
It is amazing how he has grown and changed over the last year. He is doing so great!
At this event each year, you hear the stories of the little "little" ones that are born each year -- and how they overcome so much and you know that the research and funding that the March of Dimes receives has made such a difference.

Is this what it is like to drive an 18 wheeler?
A few weeks ago,Blaine and I took the kids to Target ... and we drove an 18 wheeler around the store. I thought I was running into everything and everyone..nothing in my path was safe. Riley thought he was really big stuff to be able to ride like this. Abby thought it was neat too until... Riley started grabbing her, trying to take her things that she picked out on our spring shopping trip, and just plain annoying her... he is getting the little brother part down at an early age.

Family Day
Family Day Celebration
On Saturday, we celebrated "family" -- ours and our friends. The little ones hunted eggs in the yard and the "older" kids had an Easter Egg Amazing Race Scvanger Hunt. It was lots of fun for everyone.

ADOPTION DAY
APRIL 1, 2010
Riley Kenneth Peters
Another exciting day for our family.
Abby Gale and Blaine officially have a little brother.
Aaron and I have a son.
Riley is such a little sweetheart.
Aaron and I are truly blessed to be his parents.
We thank God each and every night for our three beautiful children.
Got his first pair of Wranglers on (size 1T Slim, with the adjustable elastic as tight at it can go to keep them on his skinny little butt), his boots, belt, and pearl snapped white shirt.
The Gift of Life
We didn't give you the gift of life
But in our hearts we know
The love we feel is deep and real
As if it had been so.
For us to have each other
it's like a dream come true!
No, we didn't give you
the gift of life.
Life gave us the gift of you.
